tid bits - about our process

  • Sustainable + Seasonal (No Floral Foam)

We work primarily with seasonal blooms, sustainable inputs, and invest in long lasting installation materials. We use compostable or reusable products for all our creative designs, and work with local craftsmen and artists to curate our collection of reusable mechanics and vessels, unique to our studio. Many of our blooms come directly from our family farm where we grow all of our flowers organically alongside our family and farm team.

  • Design Forward

Our bespoke designs are unique to our studio and your event space. Our family farm grows a wide variety of specialty flowers and greenery, which are the bulk of our raw materials. We often forage for grasses, flowering branches, rocks, wood, and other elements around your events that make our designs unique and cohesive to your space. Our floral studio puts creative design first and the art of our work is paramount. We bring in materials and blooms from other producers and climates to complement and complete the vision of your event.

  • Photography + Color Palettes

The vendors you choose to work with for your event are important. If you you have a specific vision or inspiration, if there’s a vibe you’re particularly wanting to convey, make sure your photographer can deliver that style. What you’re left with at the end of the day are your experiences and the images they capture. Make sure they can give you images to match your experience!

For example, if your inspiration images are clean and clear, but your photographer uses heavy filters, the captures from your event will not look like your inspiration or vision. Moreover, the colors of your event or wedding will look different in photos than they did as you experienced them.

We try our best to curate and design your vision, color palette, as accurately as possible - to match both your day-of dream experience and the look you want to capture in photos and videos. Based on your vision, we can make recommendations for other vendors and photographers who can give you lasting images as close to your inspiration as possible.

  • Inclusivity & Family Business

Field Five Flowers is run by me, Bethany Stanbery, and my partner, Tracy. Our farm and design studio is a family business, and we take a lot of pride and care in our team and our clients. As a queer person and as a mother, it is important to me that we treat ourselves and our clients fairly and with respect. We strive to create a creative and professional environment where employees and clients feel valued and free from discrimination or judgement.
